Boom Radio as some easy listening to ease into Wednesday morning. Blimey. I’ve hit that oldie demographic. It helps that the station is full of old Trent names. Andy Marriott on the early, early shift sounds effortless.

To the Table of Dreams! Wearing walking boots!

It may still be summer, but my vivobarefoots were caked up in mud after the game yesterday.

Wednesday was a sun assisted game. The estuary wilds rays were right in your face at one of the table. Whoever was playing at this end lost.

I started off with my face being lit up. This led to A walking away with a 4-3 win.

Album of the Day: Scritti Politi - Cupid & Psyche 85

This is a great pop album. The ’85 in the title is perfect. It sounds exactly how a record made in 1985 should. The production is sharp and sweet. The songwriting isn’t always there, but it feels like an album, and not some random songs put together.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐

The gilet was needed for the Wednesday lunchtime ride. It felt proper cold out there.

I rolled out with A on the Raleigh electrics. She pointed out to me earlier that there is a 26% discount currently on the Centros hub model. I didn’t want to know that.

We had Lawford as the very vague destination plotted for today. Some twists and turns added in made this a new route.

A pesky wasp became lodged inside my helmet. I carried out a neat pro rider move, removing my helmet - and the wasp - all whilst still riding along.

Chapeau!

Some very late poppies appeared in one of the fields. It felt weird riding along some of the lanes in a reverse direction.

The playing around with the route meant that I came close to being late for work. I realised I had 20 minutes to make it back to base whilst in the middle of bloody nowhere.

I said farewell to A, pimped up the Raleigh to Speed mode and put my foot down hard on the pedals. I made it home to login with seconds to spare.

A run of school content came my way for publishing. I suspect SE21 is on Ofsted Watch.

I played some of the reggae 12’s in the pile of new vinyl to listen to. There was some soca buried away in there.

It’s not usually my kind of thing. It finds itself in the To Sell pile straight away. But this was decent. I enjoyed the rhythm. It’s not for the YT channel, but I think I’ll keep it all the same.

A daily pic of Daisy and Dotty was taken for tumblr. I caught Dotty at the exact right moment as she was yawning.

GOTCHA!

It’s a great snap. I pimped it out to stockimo. That should pay for half a dozen or so more CD’s.

The Flock of Seagulls compilation kept me company on the afternoon shifts. They were a great singles band.

Forest dropped news of their new sponsor - a Chinese betting company.

Oh great.

That’s how you ruin a half decent home strip.

I had a scroll through my Insta pics for the summer. It seems like an age away now since I was last in the S Ldn schools. It’s been a very strange, long summer. The fog of Covid shit has confused my internal timeline.

England t20 and Forest at home in the LEAGUE CUP took up Wednesday evening.

Always the LEAGUE CUP, Comrades.

No Wembley again, then.
