A return to the Table of Dreams to start Tuesday morning. Work shifts have got in the way of the early wiff waff routine this summer. I’ve missed the mental agility that helps to start your day.

It was chilled out in the park. There was overnight dew still loitering on the table. We were both a little rusty. My concentration faded. A walked away winning 3-2.

I recorded the activity on my Garmin. It’s been a few weeks since I used this - tattoo healing, Covid shit etc. I had to reconnect the watch with my iPhone.

Album of the Day: The Allman Brothers Band - At Fillmore East

This has been a summer of blues and R & B for me. It wasn’t planned. The albums served up here of late have taken me in this direction. It’s a road I’ve greatly enjoyed exploring.

At Fillimore East is a great find. Of course the guitar solos are bloated. That’s what you want from the blues. The tight rhythm section holds it all together. I’ve become an old man. There’s no shame in my musical tastes reflecting this.

The Postman Delivers: Muddy Water’s Hard Again, and Bob’s Bootleg Series, 1-3. The To Listen pile is on the rise again.

Early autumn like conditions also meant a return to porridge. This was made to perfection this morning. I achieved the right consistency.

TUCK IN.

I was free at lunchtime for a brief bicycle ride. I rolled out on the Raleigh electric, taking in the Bobby George BONER route.

The roads were noticeably quieter compared to the weekend. It was Tractor Central with the local farming types making hay.

I love this time of year. The heat (!?) has disappeared, yet it’s still pleasant. Full on autumn can’t come quick enough for me.

Back at base and the wisteria is having a very late second burst. Some of the shoots are starting to blossom once again. The local weather micro climate is fucked.

WordPress core updates followed across all sites. So far, so good. It still scares the shit out of me.

The plan for Tuesday evening was to watch Wiv Town at home in the league. But rain was forecast and I don’t like being out beyond 9pm these days.

Yeah, yeah. Whatever.

And so a short estuary wilds walk instead. The darkened skies meant that this was a shoot for the PEN F in Mono mode.

This was another speed photo session: point, shoot, move on. I messed around a little with the over exposure settings as the light started to fade.

The route was to White House Beach and back. I had some Gilles Peterson in the AirPods. He had an ACE Carnival preview, playing 45’s from Trinidad and Tobago. It was proper old school Brownswood Basement style.

The return leg got a little hairy with a couple of bulls on the trail path. I was wearing a bright red cycling top.

Oh dear.

A coward you are Withnail, an expert in bulls you are not, etc.

A major Vuelta catch up took place back at base. I’ll edit the photos in the morning.

The new Wreckless Eric album is bloody good, btw.
