“It is clear that divisions have emerged within Lambeth Labour about how to deliver housing following the damning Kerslake Review”
Album of the Day: Parliament - Mothership Connection
I love how this album goes from quiet to loud as the tracks build up. Parliament were funk trailblazer for Pixies. I couldn’t stay still listening to this. The funk slowed down and stretched out. I felt a little peculiar after the album had finished and needed to sit down.

A bit more Buzzed: Michael Gove writes to Lambeth yet again to complain about the housing service provided by the Council to residents
“It’s a wonder that Gove can keep up with all the failings of Lambeth’s housing provision. We get the impression he is following the f-ups very closely, and no doubt with some twisted Tory glee”
An eye test to start Friday. It’s been four years since my last check up. I’m struggling for both distance and also up close when staring at various devices.
I wasn’t prepared for Mr Optician squirting some shit in my eye at 9am. Eye tests have come a long way since putting the patch over your eye back in primary school.
Work had very kindly agreed a budget for this - £25 for the test, £50 towards the cost of any new specs. I do LOVE a good budget.
The eye test clocked in at £25. I managed to negotiate keeping my old frames, and then paying precisely £50 for the new lenses.
The GypoJase empire is extending to every domain of my life.
My Insta feed showed that a new Forest store opened in the city centre this morning. On ribbon cutting duties was John McGovern - still MY Captain. He looked fresh and still capable of… lifting the European Cup above his head.
Another day, another tattoo.
I was booked in all day with my man to finish off the sleeve. It’s taken five sessions in total.
The focus today was on the tricky part behind my wrist and elbow. The pain didn’t come from the needle, but from having to lie on my front for most of the day with my arm at a strange angle.
My man made great progress. He dropped on a cool shadow. This allows this part of the design to stand out from the other layers.
I went for a brief wander around Sunny Colch city centre at lunchtime. This meant the charity shop circuit, natch. I confess to pondering a pair of leather trousers for a fiver. I’d never wear them, obvs.
A brief look around HMV followed. Liam’s double live album was selling for £45 on vinyl. Noel’s single vinyl clocked in at £35.
No ta.
The afternoon tattoo session sped by. We finished ahead of time. I love what my man has achieved here. Piece by piece, it has all come together.
That’s the sleeve finished, then. Well, the first one, anyway.
I did a brief Aldi run whilst over on this side of town. Cheapo baked beans were stocked up.
The New Cue had a great interview with Paul Hardcastle. The focus was of course on Nineteen. I had no idea that he was also behind the Commentators piss take version.
Back at base and the wisteria leaves are starting to fall. A brief tidy up followed.
And so it begins. Actually, it never ends.
The Postman Had Delivered: Miles’ Kind of Blue. It a beautiful album.
Mr Mule had very kindly delivered his latest album. I’ve become a little addicted to this over the past month or so. He’s a very, very classy songwriter. A much larger audience is deserved. I doubt he wants it that way though.
And then it was all about Forest. I had foolishly thought that the Sheff Utd home match was on TV. It wasn’t. The Friday night KO was down to the Horrid Hundred with the East Midlands franchise playing at TB tomorrow.
There’s no escape from the Horrid Hundred shit.
It was emotional before KO with Tricky Trev and the Bartman being remembered. Woh. That was quite a week last month.
We were coasting at 1-0.
Shit.
They’ve bloody equalised.
Always loved that £15m Chris Wood. Yep.
