Pinch, punch etc. Woh. Whatever happened to July?

Tour de France, innit.

Oh well. Premo Bonds day tomorrow.

Album of the Day: Sugar - Copper Blue

This is a very LOUD record. I’d forgotten that Sugar were on Creation. They appeared to be travelling in the opposite direction of other acts on the label at the time.

The tracks flow together really well. Good Idea to Changes is almost a continuous song. If I Can’t Change Your Mind could have been a Lennon and McCartney song. Seriously.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐

I was free mid-morning for a brief bicycle ride. August should mean rolling out on the roadie. But it was too windy. Bugger that. I resorted to the Raleigh electric instead. It’s all too easy.

No rain was forecast, but the skies were threatening.

I timed the traffic lights at Frating to perfection. There’s a window of less than 30 seconds to get through. They were green when they first came into view; then red. By the time I rocked up then I had the green light again.

Chapeau!

It was otherwise an uneventful ride. I managed to increase the cadence to clock 27kmh for a 2km stretch. Not a bad effort.

I approached Elmstead and saw an abandoned cat carrier in a ditch. This was most distressing.

A returned from a Glastonbury archeology trip (no shit) in the afternoon. She brought me a bottle of Mystery Tor Fresh and Fruity. Quite a find.

The Blur binge continued. Up for reappraisal today was the self-titled ’97 release. This is the best of the bunch so far. Look beyond the Song 2 bollocks and there’s some great DIY efforts sounding all distorted and dirty.

A track bike for collection only from Colchester appeared in my eBay feeds.

‘ELLO.

I’ve been on the hunt for a decent track bike for a few years now. I don’t want anything flash, just something that I can spin round and round on at Herne Hill Velo.

Watching…

The silly Hundred and courgette burgers defined Tuesday evening.

One was more enjoyable than the other.
