High water for a windy early morning run along the Estuary. I started with a medium pace, but picked up for the final 5km. A good way to set up the rest of the day.

Which wasn’t a great deal, tbh.

Album of the Day: Bob Dylan - Bringing It All Back Home

Bob has always been a brilliant storyteller. This works at best for me with the full band behind him. I can’t be doing with the finger in the ear folk shit. BIABH rocks from start to finish.

There’s still some acoustic strumming to add a light touch to the electric riffs. But over the top of all this, and stealing the show, are the lyrics. Baby Blue is a one of the best ever album closers. What a trooper.

The first peppers have started to grow on the plants for this year. The kitchen is like a green house with the overhang windows that we have.

It seems like a lot of hard work for me. Two months or so of care and attention. And then an average pepper.

Meanwhile, head out to the Co-op and you can pick up a bag of three for a half decent price.

#homegrown - overrated.

The friendly builder chap returned. He was here to patch up various snag list requests following the major work earlier in the year.

He used the toilet for a suspiciously long time period.

Wiv Town announced their first league match of the season: a home tie against GAWD knows who on 29th July. That’s early.

Surrey ball-by-ball on YT was dipped in and out of throughout the morning. There’s almost the expectation amongst Surrey fans that the Championship is won already.

There’s still a lot of hard toil ahead - especially so against what is looking like a dogged Notts team.

An email from the Alumni lot up at the Uni dropped:

“Tell us about your career!”

I drew a blank.

Much of the day was spent on Buzz catch up.

Buzzed: Lambeth Council Faces Housing Ombudsman Inspection Over Repeat Complaint Handling Issues

“This marks the first time these powers have been used”

Buzzed: Brixton Hill Studios, housing repairs and toilets in public parks all feature in Questions to Cabinet Members at next Lambeth Full Council meeting

Meanwhile, back in the bloody Estuary Wilds:

BLOGGED: Two Motions, Taxis and Recycling: Dull FC Agenda Ahoy!

“Touch on crime, tough on the causes of crime, etc – as you would expect from the Labour PPC ahead of the 2024 GE”

I wrote to Greater Anglia after the train ticket fuck up last week. I can’t see a positive outcome for this. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Yep.

Vive Le Tour for Tuesday evening.

Chapeau!
