Confusion from A first thing. The dozy so and so went out for a Weird Wiv run. She returned with no key.

Whoops.

She was convinced it was zipped up in her running shorts. Like a FOOL she retraced her steps to try and find it.

Needle in a haystack, etc. Which wasn’t too far from the truth, given that she ran around some bloody Estuary Wilds farms in the middle of nowhere.

In her favour was that she didn’t exactly run far…

And there it was - a solitary key lying in the middle of nowhere. She won’t do that again.

Album of the Day: Sparks - Kimono My House

The wiki entry describes this as glam. Really? It’s in a genre all of its own. Completely bonkers, pulling in baroque and early electronica. It sounds like the drugs that were around at the time.

The melodies are all there. Kimono is a pop album at heart. I wish Eurovision was still as utterly baffling as this.

My early morning listening than took a twist with a mid-80’s indie nostalgia fest. Panic, HoL’s Christine and Mary Chain’s Some Candy Talking. Party like Britpop never happened, etc.

Indie use to be indie.

Indie use to be half decent.

I’ve actually booked time off work to go and see the Mary Chain supporting Primal Scream at Crystal Palace in August.

Update: fuck it. Bought tickets for the Mary Chain and the Scream team, innit. Surrey have a Royal London the day before. The Coffee Ponce of SW8 has a comedy gig at DHFC in the evening. Gonna be messy, yeah?

Sleaford fucking Mods dropped a live session from KEXP in the US. They’re a bloody hard working band, those boys. I didn’t have them down for supporting Blur at Wembley Stadium next month, either. Blimey.

Surrey ball-by-ball took up most of the day. The BBC London commentary is worth the licence fee alone.

I’m really enjoying the season so far this year. I don’t give a stuff about the Blast, let alone the silly Hundred.

Long live County cricket. FUCK yer silly Hundred.

There. That’s told them, Jase.

It was a remarkable performance from Surrey, chasing down an unlikely 501 in their second innings away at Canterbury. Dom Sibley is no Baz Baller. This is the type of win on which Championships are won.

C’MON THE ‘RREY!

A brief trip to the Co-op followed. I was a little star struck with two of the Rebels’ female players putting in the weekly shop. I managed to restrain myself.

The working day was occupied with new project stress. I get this every time. Hopefully the project will soo settle down. I’ve got more training in the morning.

To Alresford! …early evening for another walking football training session. I wasn’t feeling it this evening. The heat was a major factor.

We played a game of all in for the final ten minutes - no limit on the usual three touch rule, but still at walking pace. If this was a match day then I would have been pulled.
