Buzzed: Slight tinkering with licence for Brockwell Summer Series with extended perimeter for booze and shifting of a stage

“Lambeth Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee will meet on March 16th to discuss a change to the Brockwell Summer Series event.

The applicant, Summer Events Limited, has proposed a maximum of 10 event days in each calendar year, with no more than seven of these days exceeding a capacity of 29,999.

The applicant proposes an extension to the licensed site perimeter and the internal movement of one of the stages to sit within the new area.”

Album of the Day: Tom Waits - Bone Machine

This had a carnal sound to my innocent ears. It reminded me of some of the early work by The Creatures. The rhythmic pounding wasn’t something I was expecting from Tom Waits. He has so much soul in his voice to balance out the beats. That’s all I ask for in any album. Waits is at his best when he is ballideering. The gentle sax touches are soothing in relation to the harsh lyrics. This was a great find. The CD has been snaffled up.

I’m finding it smooth using my new workflow to turn around this copy in quick succession. I’m learning to let things go and get the basics of the story out there. No fucker was reading my 2,000+ word masterpieces anyway.

FOOLS.

I did my own reading myself early morning. There’s a great piece in a recent Cycle UK magazine about photography and cycling.

Or should that be cycling and photography?

Either way, it opened up some handy tips on how to max out the power of your iPhone when out and about on your bicycle.

Having said that, I walked off to SW9 for a school day, rather than by bicycle. The pissing S Ldn rain made sure of that.

I had a great guided reading session with Boy Y. He didn’t get bored of me, and I certainly enjoyed his company. We shared reading responsibilities together for almost half an hour.

To Battersea Power Station Station!

I managed to blag a spot on a mid-morning life skills trip with the lovely Year 8 pupils. My main role was to capture the trip and try and tell jokes along the way.

It’s been a while since I’ve snapped away on the tube. It’s all about lighting. You can’t go wrong in a Northern Line carriage that resembles an underground tanning studio.

This was the first time on the tube for some of the students. I found this equally depressing and also wonderfully innocent. Basics such as mounting and departing on the escalator were quite a challenge for some.

I like the idea that their introduction to TfL is the bright and shiny NU of Battersea Power Station Station. Just wait until they experience the outer reaches of the Northern Line.

It was a short trip - two hours later and we were back in SW9. It meant that the rest of the school day passed me by,

I tried my new workflow for publishing back in the flat. It worked a treat. Much like the Buzz and Chronic action, the focus is on letting go. You may call it cutting corners; I call it EATING up the To Do list.

There.

Be gone.

It meant I had time to dip in and out of the Arsenal match, Paris Nice highlights and the Man Utd game.

A decent day.
