Wivenhoe Pantomime

And so with one week and counting until the grand prestige opening night of the esteemed Wivenhoe Pantomime, I think that what we all need is a picture of the most splendid sign plugging the panto, currently standing proud outside the William Loveless Hall [where else?]

Colonel Tom Parker employed similar masterful marketing techniques whenever Elvis came to town (Vegas, not Wivenhoe) lighting up the Hilton with the legend that is ELVIS is gold lights. We hear that planning permission may have caused a few problems for the planned panto laser lights on the roof of the Loveless Hall.

But step inside, and the show is worthy of any Vegas Elvis last nightstand. I was lucky enough to have a sneak preview of Robin Hood before the Christmas break: a panto villain that will have you snarling, incredibly talented dancing and singing Wivenhoe kids doing incredibly talented things, plus the odd Iron Maiden reference slipped in.

Oh Lordy.

Tickets are still available for the shows, but the advice is to move quickly. With the world premier of the Wivenhoe panto taking place on Wednesday 18th January, shows also follow on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, as well as a Saturday afternoon matinee at 2:30pm.

Tickets for Wednesday and Thursday are £4.50 / £4 concessions, and £6 for Friday and Saturday productions. Which might jut buy you a ropey second hand Elvis CD on eBay.

Spend wisely, folks…

You can buy tickets from the High Street Post Office and Premier Crossway Stores up towards the Cross. Contact wivpantogroup at gmail for further details.
