Write two thousand plus words on the inner mechanism of Wivenhoe Town Council and m’blog ticks over for the day. Post up a hit and miss video of Murphie the Kitten and m’blog goes into meltdown.

Yep, ever the online traffic whore (and with apologies to the fine folk of WTC) - it’s time for yet another Murphie video on m’blog.

All is fine on the home front with our new special friend. Calling her a kitten should probably cease as from now. The lovely Colchester Cat Rescue folk aged Murphie at two and a half, but warned of a kitten mentality.

Shy, in need of love and the possibility of a few little accidents on the toilet front - but that’s enough about @AnnaJCowen (aha!) what about Murphie’s social skills?

Well, the girl (Murphie, not @AnnaJCowen) has come along at a great pace in the past three weeks. The safe room in which we were told to house her for the first month, soon led way to the entire free run of our home.

Murphie has been exploring every corner, cupboard and chimney (cripes) in the old building, finally finding her favourite resting spot as underneath the clotheshorse. Removing our smalls from the rails leads to an evil cat stare. Not so much the innocent little kitten now, eh?

With spring finally arriving in Wivenhoe, thoughts are now starting to turn towards the great outdoors. Murphie has been mentally logging all the comings and goings into the garden over the past few days. We’ve provisionally set a date for the re-opening of the cat flap for next weekend.

Uh-oh.

On more mundane domestic matters, Cats really do Love Whiskas. Thanks to the wonderful help from the kind folk down at Wivenhoe Pets, we’ve found the perfect diet.

Murphie is starting to put on the much-needed pounds. Having an eating, pooh pooh-ing and wee wee-ing cat is a great comfort. We just need to convince her now that climbing on top of us at 3am for a feed isn’t that funny.

The next WTC meeting takes place on Monday 21st March; the next Murphie the cat video is scheduled for soon after. While the cat is away, the mice will play.

Meowww.
