The Postman Delivers: a rather fetching Surrey cap. I think it’s a player issue item as I’ve not seen it for sale before in the club shop.

It was snaffled up on the cheap as chips Vinted - the poor man’s ebay, if indeed there is such a thing. I would hesitate to think which Surrey player would offload merch on a bargain basement platform.

Bob Elms was decent listening, as ever. He surprised me by playing Brothers In Arms shortly after the 11am Armistice. I wouldn’t even call the album a guilty pleasure. It’s class, from start to finish.

I watched bits of #lolspurs over luncheon. There was mixed feelings when Brennan scored his first goal for the N Ldn mob.

Hey! That’s not right. He’s one of our own, etc. But well played, young man.

To Broad Lane! For the latest instalment of Wivenhoe Town Vs Gawd knows who!

I walked it rather than cycle. I’m still not allowed any exercise for a further three weeks. I arrived on time ahead of KO for the first time in five years.

There was a well respected minutes silence at 3pm. It was peaceful, apart from the Essex boy racer who revved up his shitty car along the side of the ground as Broad Lane was trying to pay its respect.

Swaffham Town won the toss and decided to swap ends. This disrupted my usual matchday OCD routine. I wasn’t alone in feeling a little out of sync.

The Dragons had no centre halves available. My man on the inside tipped me off that player holidays were the main reason.

It didn’t help that the visitors had a BULLY BOY muscle man up front who barged his way down the centre of the pitch throughout the match.

Shout out to the Grandad Lino. He had more fitness in his frame than I have right now.

Bright sun characterised the first half. Long shadows made for some decent photography conditions.

The floodlights came on for the second half, soon to be followed by a red card for the Dragons. A 2-1 home defeat was disappointing.

To the University! For the Div 1 Mens team with a home court BALL game!

The visit of Thames Valley was put aside as a Diwali celebration. We were guided into the Essex Sports Arena by some lovely Diwali candles that had been laid out to form a path in the darkness.

Some traditional Indian sweets were handed out to all upon arrival.

TUCK IN.

The Rebels continue to do a Grade A job on the marketing front. The crowd continues to grow each week. There are more families rocking up each Saturday evening.

The Rebels were never stretched throughout the game. This could be a very, very promising season ahead for the men.

The final buzzer score of 80-60 included a very cheeky three pointer, right on the final buzzer for the Rebels.

I caught the bus back to base, rather than walk the 5km in the cold and darkness. This has been the longest time period I have been out of the house in the past three weeks.

DARTS ended Saturday evening. We watched the final few games of the Masters.

A asked if the tournament was taking place in LA. It’s being staged in Wolverhampton, natch.
