An early morning cycle through Brixton en route to the lovely lido.
The market traders were starting to set up. This is my favourite part of the day around these parts.
The lido was quiet shortly after 7am. I managed to have a lane to myself.
The water is still around five degrees too tepid, topping out at 19 degrees. The comedown of the cold showers restored some balance in the outdoor swimming eco system.
It was decent to catch up with Clap’ham Martin. Time and tide means that our swimming routines rarely cross these days.
I had a Zip Me Up Before You Go Go moment with a RUBBER BOY in the gents.
Something for the weekend, Sir?
I arrived back in Sunny Stockwell chilled for the 8am work shift.
A few minor tech issues with Big Client #1 were soon resolved.
The modern interweb is in a continual state of being b0rked, right?
I set up a new ifttt feed for the Wivenhoe Forum. My daily-ish Trail Twitter snaps should now be duplicated over to the Forum FB page.
The modern interweb is in a continual state of being brilliant, right?
I had forgotten how quiet the South Lambeth Road flat is as a working base. The back room is a lot more focussed than than the comings and goings back in the Estuary Wilds.
I cycled off towards Ldn Bridge at luncheon for a bit of Brompton shopping. On my wish list was a new front loading bag.
My S bag for my S-frame bars has seen better days. The zips are f-ed. The Repair Cafe folk back in the Estuary Wilds have tried their best to patch it up.
And so I bit the bullet and bought a bloody new bag.
I cheated by buying a T bag.
There is a large tag attached saying:
DO NOT USE WITH S-TYPE HANDLEBAR.
I slipped in my S bag frame to the T bag and Bob’s your thingy.
Bicycling manufactures – and especially Brompton – do like to give you the tech spec runaround.
The afternoon work shifts at least made a little effort to redress the buy / need dosh equation.
I headed back to Brixton late afternoon. My man Rasheed under the Academy was top of my list for a haircut.
It looked a bloody mess before Rasheed worked his magic.
Time was a little tight, but the lovely lido was up the road and I had a spare hour.
DOUBLE DIPPING AHOY!
And then Friday evening was all about being on the piss in the OCS with @surreycricket.
It was more like a korfball club reunion to be honest.
C’mon the ‘rrey!
*I am a little tired and emotional*
