Clarity first thing on Friday morning down at the lovely lido.

The water hasn’t quite returned to the beautiful Brockwell blue, but it is possible to see ahead for more than half a metre underwater.

It was shame then that a rather spindly leg kicking breast stroker decided to join my lane and swim right down the middle.

Ouch, Madam.

That bloody hurt.

I managed to recover in time to see the fine figure of Le Gai Pensionnaire actually diving into the deep end.

I think that I witnessed Tom Daley in five decades time.

I showered, and then made the short cycle through Herne Hill and on to a school day in SE21.

The school has… grown.

Which means that my workload has increased as well.

Sixteen classes, you say?

Blimey.

I managed to make thirteen of them in my usual hit and run style. I would love to be able to spend a little more learning time in each class.

But I came out with some half decent content in the classes that I managed to visit.

The new sixth form is shaping up spectacularly. The second intake started this term. It is genuinely providing a transition for the SEN students from school to the wider world.

I kept one eye on the Surrey score over at The Oval, and the other on the bruising Transpontine skies looming over the lido.

Late afternoon plans were for either the fag end of the final Surrey Championship match, or some double dipping back in Lake Brockwell.

Sadly neither materialised.

The skies darkened and Transpontine rain started to fall.

I cycled back to a not so Sunny Stockwell and caught up with some admin.

Early evening and the shout went out for: To the West End!

Gosh.

The Style Councillors were playing another gig at The 100 Club.

I just couldn’t resist.

I did avoid the temptation to for the Weller boating jacket and cravat. It’s not the best foot-shuffling clothing combination.

The band were note perfect and bloody brilliant.

I didn’t drink, but danced and sang every word of every song. It was wonderful to hear tracks from The Cost of Loving played live.

Keep the Faith, etc.

In Family News: an an operation has taken place. The outcome appears to be positive.

Have a pleasant weekend.
