Uptown Top Parking

Wearing a totally apolitical hat (yeah, right Jase…) and the Gazette is reporting on a petition organised by Conservative Future to try and resolve parking problems outside One Stop:

“A student has launched a campaign to tackle congestion problems on an estate in Wivenhoe.

Mo Metcalf-Fisher, president of Essex University’s Conservative Future party, has vowed to tackle parking problems outside One Stop, in Vine Farm Road.

Mr Metcalf-Fisher, who is hoping to stand as a candidate in the area in the next local election, has been asking residents to sign a petition, which he hopes to present to Essex County Council bosses next week.

The petition is calling for the area to be transformed to allow more parking spaces in the hope of easing congestion.”

Not being an uptowner (ooh, get you) – is the parking problem really that bad? Parking issues certainly dominated the most recent Neighbourhood Action Panel meeting held at the Town Council office.

Good work, young Mo in actually addressing issue. Anything that involves resident participation has to be encouraged.
