An unprepossessing street at first glance, but look further and you’ll see lots of interest. At first it seems your normal Bloomsbury street with the usual mix of people and architecture.
At the top of the road is something very different. A round, almost military looking building. This is actually one of two entrances to the deep level shelters that run under Goodge Street station. It was here that General Eisenhower announced the invasion of France in 1944.
